What are congratulatory messages?

Australians residing in New South Wales celebrating a special birthday or wedding anniversary can receive a personal letter of congratulations from the NSW Premier.

Who qualifies?

Upon request, the NSW Premier will send a message of congratulations to NSW residents turning 80 years of age and every fifth year thereafter up to 90 and then every year thereafter.

The NSW Premier also sends messages to couples celebrating 50 years of marriage and every year thereafter.

When to Arrange the Message

You can make arrangements for anniversary messages up to three months before the celebration. You can also request a belated message up to one month after the birthday or wedding anniversary has passed. You must allow at least one month for the office to guarantee delivery of letters.

Where Will the Message Be Delivered?

Messages can be delivered directly to the recipient or to a care-of address for surprises.

How to arrange the message?

The office of Alister Henskens SC MP can organise official anniversary messages for constituents celebrating a special birthday or wedding anniversary. Depending on the milestone you can receive personal congratulations from the Prime Minister, The Premier, Governor-General or The Queen. To arrange an anniversary message, you can call the Office of Alister Henskens SC MP on (02) 9487 8588 or fill out the form below.

You will need to provide supporting documentation like a birth certificate or marriage certificate (photocopies of originals are accepted). If these are not available you can provide a statutory declaration. Statutory declaration forms are available at any Post Office.

Your request to the NSW Premier will be passed on to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and the NSW Governor's Office if you are eligible to receive messages from other parties. See Table below:
