On Friday 13 December, State Member for Ku-ring-gai Alister Henskens SC, congratulated sixteen students from Ku-ring-gai High School for their successful completion of the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) Secondary Cadet Program.
“There would be no better circumstances than the present to praise this program. It is an ideal way to introduce young people to the important role volunteer firefighter’s play within our communities”, Mr Henskens said.
“The students were taught essential fire safety techniques and have gained an appreciation of the work our emergency services are doing right now across our state”.
The RFS Secondary Schools Cadet Program was open to Year 10 students as an alternate physical education activity. It commenced on 15 October 2019 and went for 9 weeks and is the third year that the program has been conducted at Ku-ring-gai High.
