Alister Henskens Encourages Community To Have Their Say On The NorthConnex UDLP

Member for Ku-ring-gai, Alister Henskens SC, is inviting community members to have their say on the stage one Urban Design and Landscaping Proposal (UDLP) for NorthConnex.

“Artist impressions and details of what NorthConnex could look like are contained in the UDLP, which is why I am encouraging locals, particularly those living close to the project, to get involved and have their say,” said Mr Henskens.

“By capturing community feedback, NorthConnex will be able to tailor the look and colour of the project to reflect the local area.”

“Stage one of the plan provides insight into the final look of the project’s bridges, pedestrian routes and noise and retaining walls.

“By delivering the plan in two parts NorthConnex can consult early on features such as noise walls and build them as quickly as possible.

“Next year will see consultation start on stage two which includes buildings such as the Motorway Operations Complex, service buildings and ventilation outlets.

"Both stages of the plan will be approved by the Department of Planning and Environment after the community’s views have been fully considered.”

Comments on stage one of the UDLP close on Wednesday 30 November 2016.

The UDLP can be viewed at NorthConnex Community Information Centre at 118 Yarrara Road, Pennant Hills 2150 or at selected local libraries, or by visiting www.northconnex.com.au/UDLP

The project team is also available to discuss the plan by calling 1800 997 057.

Feedback can also be provided to [email protected] or by writing to NorthConnex at Locked Bay 1001, West Pennant Hills 2125.

Due for completion in 2019, NorthConnex is a nine kilometre tunnel that will link the M1 Pacific Motorway at Wahroonga to the Hills M2 Motorway at West Pennant Hills.
