Changes to School Zone On Fox Valley Road And Cyrus Avenue At Wahroonga

End School Zone Sign

State Member for Ku-ring-gai, Alister Henskens SC MP, informed motorists that traffic conditions along Fox Valley Road and Cyrus Avenue at Wahroonga will change next week following the removal of the school zone near Retaval Preparatory School.

Mr Henskens confirmed that the existing 40 km/h school zone will be removed along 250 metres of Fox Valley Road and 190 metres of Cyrus Avenue after the school campus closed in May this year.

“Roads and Maritime Services reviewed the school zone after a request from the community,” Mr Henskens said.  “In consultation with the NSW Education Standards Authority, RMS decided that the existing school zone should be removed for the benefit of motorists, as the roads no longer had direct access points to a school.”

Mr Henskens advised that the school zone signs and road markings are expected to be removed on Monday, 23 October, weather permitting.

“Once the signs are removed, the speed limit along Fox Valley Road and Cyrus Avenue will return to 50 km/h,” Mr Henskens said.

“I remind motorists to drive to speed limits at all times for the safety of all road users.”

Members of the community are able to sign up at the Safer Road NSW website saferroadsnsw.com.au  to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area.
