Motorists in Ku-ring-gai will now be able to find the cheapest petrol at every service station in NSW thanks to the state-government’s new initiative, Fuelwatch.

Alister Henskens SC MP, Member for Ku-ring-gai said FuelCheck is the first service of its kind in Australia and will change the way drivers buy petrol by providing accurate, real-time fuel price information at every service station across NSW. It will be accessible on any device connected to the internet, including smartphones, tablets, desktop computers and laptops.

“In our area, fuel prices can vary dramatically from one service station to another. FuelCheck will allow drivers in Ku-ring-gai to find and purchase the cheapest fuel at any time.”

“Motorists can also get directions to any service station and search for fuel by type or brand,” Mr Henskens said.

“Importantly, if the price at the pump doesn’t match what is shown on FuelCheck, customers will be able to submit a complaint directly to NSW Fair Trading.”

Service stations will be required to update petrol price changes as soon as they make changes, so customers can compare prices. 

“The NSW Government is committed to boosting competition in the fuel sector and delivering a better deal to NSW motorists,” Mr Henskens said. 

FuelCheck is currently in Beta version, so we are encouraging consumers to offer feedback to NSW Fair Trading regarding the functionality of the website.
