Funding Boost for Ku-ring-gai Sports Clubs
Eight local sporting organisations in the Ku-ring-gai electorate will share over $37,000 under the NSW Government’s 2020/21 Local Sport Grant Program.
Member for Ku-ring-gai, Alister Henskens SC MP said, “This is fantastic news for our grassroots sports clubs and could not come at a better time”.
“Sport is a way of life in our community and many clubs faced challenges at the peak of COVID-19. This funding will directly help to increase participation, improve social and health outcomes and provide a psychological boost for our volunteers”.
The successful sporting groups include: Gordon North Sydney Hockey Club, Kissing Point Football Club, Knox Old Boys Rugby Union Football Club Inc., North Turramurra Football Club, Prouille Football Club, Wahroonga Rugby Union Club Inc., Ku-ring-gai Netball Association and Warrawee Bowling Club.
“Whether it’s providing opportunities for young girls to improve their football skills, purchasing jerseys and player uniforms or buying a wheelchair and physio beds, these grants will play a vital role in giving everyone a chance to enjoy sport in our community”, Mr Henskens said.
More than 700 organisations across the State are set to benefit from the NSW Government’s $4 million Local Sport Grants Program.
