Have A Say On Pacific Highway Upgrades Between Turramurra And Wahroonga

Pacific Highway Wahroonga

The community is encouraged to provide feedback on a proposal to improve traffic flow at three busy intersections along the Pacific Highway between Turramurra and Wahroonga.

State Member for Ku-ring-gai, Alister Henskens SC MP, said the proposed improvements are being investigated as part of the NSW Government’s $300 million Urban Roads Pinch Point Program, which aims to reduce congestion and improve travel time on Sydney’s busiest corridors.

“The intention of the proposed upgrades along the Pacific Highway at the intersections of Fox Valley Road, Finlay Road, as well as Coonanbarra Road and Redleaf Avenue, is to improve traffic flow and efficiency for motorists who travel along the busy stretch of road,” Mr Henskens said.

“Thousands of vehicles travel through these intersections each day during peak times and the proposed improvements would provide a smoother journey for motorists.

“The proposed upgrades include widening the road to potentially provide three continuous northbound lanes and maintaining three continuous southbound lanes between Turramurra and Wahroonga.

“As part of the proposal, work would also be carried out to improve some intersections along the busy corridor.”

Mr Henskens said the proposed improvements aim to reduce queue lengths and traffic delays as well as improve travel times and road user safety.

“Northbound motorists travelling along this section of the Pacific Highway currently experience delays and congestion, particularly during the afternoon peak, so widening the road would provide increased capacity and more consistent road conditions,” Mr Henskens said.

“Roads and Maritime Services will consider submissions received until close of business on Friday 5 October.

“A consultation report summarising the feedback received will be made available in the coming months.”
