Member for Ku-ring-gai, Alister Henskens SC MP, is exhorting local businesses to show their commitment to safe and healthy workplaces as part of national Safe Work Month.

“Safe Work Month is an opportunity for businesses and workers to focus on improving work health and safety in their workplace,” Mr Henskens said.

“Whether you are an employer or a worker, and regardless of your industry, occupation or background, workplace safety is everyone’s responsibility.

“I urge Ku-ring-gai business leaders and workers to strongly support Safe Work Month and demonstrate their commitment to work health and safety.

Mr Henskens advised that visiting the SafeWork NSW website would assist workplaces to think about safety during Safe Work Month.

“SafeWork’s free Safe Work Month Toolkit has over 20 ideas and helpful tips to inspire businesses to look at and talk about safety and it can be downloaded from the website,” Mr Henskens said.

“There are also a range of events and activities planned across the State or, alternatively, workplaces can organise their own.

“SafeWork’s social media accounts also feature great ideas on simple safety and the latest safety innovations.”
