Wahroonga Adventist School has received a $1 million grant from the NSW Government to facilitate its expansion.

The School will use the grant to build a new Junior School (Kindergarten to Year 4) building, which is part of a new master-planned Kindergarten to Year 12 campus in Fox Valley Road, Wahroonga.

The new state-of-the-art three-storey building will include 12 classrooms and three shared learning spaces and it will also feature a roof-top play area, a ground floor amphitheatre and additional play areas. It is scheduled for completion by the beginning of the 2019 school year.

State Member for Ku-ring-gai, Alister Henskens SC MP indicated that the building signals an important milestone in the history of the School. “Since its humble beginnings in 1905, Wahroonga Adventist School has been a great Ku-ring-gai success story,” Mr Henskens said.

“Offering a diverse and progressive learning program and a focus on Christian values, the School offers outstanding educational facilities and it will within the next few years expand to become a full high school.”

“Moving the younger students into the Junior School Building will provide an opportunity to offer more high school places, which are currently in great demand in our area,” said Mr Henskens.

“This grant to Wahroonga Adventist School complements the recently announced major upgrades and provision of 53 new teaching spaces at Killara Public School, Waitara Public School and St Lucy’s School and the reduction of $3.2 million in planned maintenance liability at our local public schools.”

“I am delighted that the NSW Government is assisting the funding of this project.”
