New Year Bus Boost For Ku-ring-gai Customers

Sydney Buses

Member for Ku-ring-gai, Alister Henskens SC MP, today welcomed the introduction of almost 30 additional and extended weekly services for bus customers from 15 January as part of the NSW Government’s Growth Services Program.

“This Government is committed to delivering better public transport when and where it is needed and that is why we are making improvements to several bus routes in the local area,” said Mr Henskens.

“Additional weekday night time services will be added on routes 195, 196 and 197 to replace most of the trips on the combined route 195/196 between Gordon and Austlink Business Park.

“These routes will also see more trips on the weekends, as well as extended operating times to provide more travel options for customers who need to catch a bus later in the evening.

“These additional services are being introduced to cater for the extra demand from customers for services to and from Gordon, Macquarie Park and St Ives Chase.”

The new services follow one of the biggest uplifts in public transport services ever, with almost 7,000 additional weekly bus services added to the timetable in late November.

This brings the number of new weekly bus services provided by the NSW Government since March 2011 to over 24,000.
