Spotlight on Local Talented HSC Students

Thirty-six local performers, creators, and innovators from the 2022 HSC will be celebrated alongside a selection of their top classmates after being selected for one of eight high-profile HSC Showcases throughout 2023.

Each year, the HSC Showcases display a selection of top major works of students across visual arts, performing arts and technologies.

State Member for Ku-ring-gai Alister Henskens SC welcomes this opportunity for young people to have their hard work, creativity and innovation shared across NSW.

“Our local young people should be so proud of what they have achieved – not only completing a valuable, well regarded credential like the HSC, but also producing work of such high quality that it will be featured in statewide events and exhibitions.

“It is no small feat to be included in an HSC Showcase and it signals that the future is bright for our local HSC graduates.”

Minister for Education and Early Learning Sarah Mitchell, who presented students with their awards at the Oscars-like ceremony, said it was a great opportunity to celebrate the talents of these young people.

“This was a fantastic opportunity for schools and the general public to witness the talents of young people and provide another platform for graduates to launch future careers in the field they are passionate about. It really felt like the Oscars of the HSC creative arts world,” Ms Mitchell said.

458 HSC graduates have been selected from across the state to be featured.

“I strongly encourage our local schools, teachers and community members to get along and take a look at this year’s showcases and to celebrate these incredible students,” Mr Henskens said.
