The NSW Government has launched a campaign to support local businesses at Wahroonga Village in the lead up to the holiday period.

Alister Henskens SC MP said the upcoming business marketing campaign, which starts this week, would run for three weeks to help support local businesses, and include promotional and social media initiatives.

“We’ve been working hard to complete the much needed upgrade to Wahroonga Station as fast as possible, however we recognise work has been disruptive to local business and community during this time,” Mr Henskens said. “We’ve put some measures in place over the next few weeks to help encourage visitors and locals to come back to the village, including increased signage, flyers and advertising and a local social media campaign. We’re encouraging the community to shop local and support Wahroonga Village businesses. We thank the community for their support and patience as work on this important upgrade progresses to provide a vastly improved and more accessible Wahroonga Station”.

The recent eight week closure of the Redleaf Avenue bridge has allowed a significant amount of work to be completed.

The upgraded station will feature a new lift to provide access from the Redleaf Avenue Bridge to the station platform, a new accessible ramp and walkway between the station and Wahroonga Shopping Village, a new bridge deck and new pedestrian footbridge.

The project is expected to be completed in early 2022.

The business campaign will run from 2 December to 22 December 2021.
