Glenn Bridgland

Hands in a circle

Mr ALISTER HENSKENS (Wahroonga) (17:02): Glenn Bridgland of Turramurra recently received the 2025 Upper North Shore Senior Volunteer of the Year Award. Glenn is a volunteer pilot with Little Wings, an organisation that helps bring children from regional and rural New South Wales to major cities for specialist and life-saving medical treatment. As a retired long-haul airline pilot, Glenn has flown more than 180 missions, not only helping hundreds of children and their families across New South Wales to get access to the medical treatment they need but also dedicating hundreds more hours to mentoring and training new pilots. You do not often hear of the amazing work of people like Glenn but, because of people like him, young children across the State are able to get the life-saving treatment they need with their close family members by their side. Little Wings makes children's medical services for regional communities a bit more equal to their urban counterparts. I thank Glenn for the important work he does. I again congratulate him on being recognised at this year's Upper North Shore Volunteer of the Year Awards.
