Joseph Kim
Mr ALISTER HENSKENS (Wahroonga) (17:52): I recently had the pleasure of presenting Joseph Kim from Westleigh with a State Representative Award in recognition of his achievement representing New South Wales at the 2024 School Sport Australia Swimming Championship. At 17 years of age, Joseph was part of the relay team that broke the 200-metre freestyle record at the recent CAS Swimming and Diving Championships. Joseph is not only an outstanding swimmer; he also excels academically and musically. He plays the drums, piano, guitar and trumpet, which is not an easy task, especially with the trumpet being a particularly difficult instrument to master. He is currently ranked first in his year in advanced mathematics at Knox Grammar School and has aspirations to pursue his swimming career in the United States after finishing school. It was a pleasure to meet Joseph and his mother at my electorate office in Wahroonga. I wish him every success in his future endeavours, wherever they may take him.
