Queen's Birthday Honours 2021

Flower Bouquet

Mr ALISTER HENSKENS (Ku-ring-gai—Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services)—Every day I see the extraordinary efforts of people in our community, so when the Queen's Birthday Honours were announced in June it came as no surprise that members of the Ku-ring-gai electorate and people with connections to Ku-ring-gai were recognised. I acknowledge Ku-ring-gai resident, Mr Russel Meares, OAM. Russel was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday Honours for his service and achievements in the field of mineral exploration. I acknowledge Brenda Williams, OAM. Brenda has given over 55 years' of service to netball and is the Ku-ring-gai Netball Association's Patron and longest serving member. Brenda is a wonderful local sporting personality. Robert Howe, OAM, received a Medal of the Order of Australia for community service, including his involvement with the Rotary Club of Wahroonga. Doctor Leon Clark, AM, was a visionary leader and past CEO of Sydney Adventist Hospital in Wahroonga and Rotary Club of Wahroonga member. He was named as a Member of the Order of Australia for his service to healthcare delivery and medical administration. All recipients have done much for our community and beyond. I thank them for their service.
