Turramurra Fresh Produce and Gourmet Award Finalist

Fresh Produce

Mr ALISTER HENSKENS (Ku-ring-gai—Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services)—I would like to acknowledge the Turramurra Fresh Produce and Gourmet Market, a finalist in the 2021 Better Business Partnership Sustainability Awards. The market is held every Wednesday in Karuah Park, Turramurra, in the Ku-ring-gai electorate and is the only weekday market on the North Shore. It's a place for high quality, fresh and organic products from cheeses to free-range eggs and award-winning produce. Notably, the market provides an intersection between sustainability and community engagement, which is especially important after the recent Covid lockdown. I've always admired the community spirit that is encouraged with markets like these, and have no doubt it will continue well into the future. So I congratulate everyone involved in organising the Turramurra Fresh Produce and Gourmet Market, and on being a finalist in the Better Business Partnership Sustainability Awards this year. I note the market was the winner of the overall award in 2018. I also commend the local residents of Ku-ring-gai who continue to support this important community market.
